Time: 09.30 am for field meeting and 1 pm for the EGA
Meet at the main reception area of Algaba.
Field Meeting Leader: Peter Jones
Our location for this year's EGA and Field Meeting has been chosen once more to give members the opportunity to see typical oak woodland birds as well as some specialities such as Booted and Short-toed Eagle, both nesting within the woodland boundaries. The centre of the reserve has accommodation for those wishing to stay either on Friday or Saturday nights (or both). The centre also has a dinning area for lunch, see below, and conference room for our EGA.
Accommodation: Rooms and apartments are available self catering or with breakfast included, prices per night to be advised (watch this space). Alternatively book direct through the Algaba website -http://www.algabaderonda.com/ for details of the woodland and reserve and for accommodation this link:

http://www.andaluciabirdsociety.org/affiliated-services/accommodation-by-province/malaga.html also another ABS supporting hotel is Morales in Ronda see
http://www.hotelmorales.esDirections to Algaba: For those coming to Ronda approaching from San Pedro. On arriving to Ronda you will approach a roundabout with mock stone arches on, take the turning signposted for Algeciras. Likewise those approaching Ronda from all other directions follow signs for Algeciras. Proceed on this road for approximately 4 kilometres, look for a long house on your left, immediately opposite is the entrance to 'Algaba', which is well signposted. Proceed down the track until you arrive at the main centre and reception. Also see map attached.
Field Meeting. Starting 09.30 am meeting in the car park of the main reception area at Algaba.
We will proceed to the Alta Genal area for viewing a few mountain birds with wheatear sp, Spectacled Warbler, Rock Thrush etc., all possible. Golden and Bonelli's Eagle breed in this area, so chances for these and other raptors are very good. We will then make our way back to the oak woodlands of Algaba for woodland birds such as Bonelli's and Subalpine Warbler, woodpecker sp, plus summer resident eagle sp. Lots of birds will be seen during the morning and it promises to be a great field meeting.
Lunch. We have arranged a set menu lunch with 2 glasses of wine included for the price of 15 euro per person. Other beverages are available for purchase. We expect to have concluded our EGA by 2 pm latest. Could you please say whether you would like lunch so I can get the numbers to Algaba before the 12th of July.
The photography hide is available to members wishing to spend time photographing woodland birds. For further examples and information on this hide, please see the Facebook page here:
