Event- Field meeting for Feb 17th 2018 to the area of Bonanza near Sanlucar de Barrameda.

Date- Feb 17th 2018

Meeting Point- Bar La Campana,Calle Puerto de Barrameda, 69 11540 Bonanza Cádiz

Time- 9.30

Leader for the day- Frank Hair

Directions to the meeting point- The meeting point is on the main street of Bonanza at the north end of the town. Go to google maps, type in the name and address of the bar where we are meeting into the search box at the top left hand side of the map, then click on directions and type in where you live and you will get directions to the meeting point.
Information about the meeting- This meeting is going to be an expedition of the lagunas and salt pans around the area of Bonanza near Sanlucar de Barrameda.

Accommodation in the area- We have no members with accommodation in the area so have a look at one of the hotel search engine (booking .com trivago.com)for a hotel in this area.

Clothing and food - It could be cold and wet we will just have to keep our eyes on the weather for the area closer to the time, but there is very little shelter there. We can either go to a venta in the area or have a packed lunch, I will be opting for a packed lunch as there will be more time for the birds.
Possible birds- Well where do we start, there is a population of marbled teal, white headed ducks, spoonbills, greater flamingo, slender billed gulls, marsh harrier and lots of different waders that overwinter here.

Other sites in the area for those staying overnight- Have a look at the site list in the members area of the main ABS web site.
I would like someone to volunteer to write a trip report for this meeting for submission to the editor of our magazine, it will be included in the spring edition.

Hi we are newbies. Joined the club last year but only winter visitors and this is the first event we have been able to attend. Enthusiastic amateurs rather than experts!
