In 2005 Cornell University Ornithology Lab. thoroughly tested and reviewed most of the brands and models used by birdwatchers and the results can be seen here:

Frankly, unless you're a perfectionist, the latest 'Hawke' open bridge ED bins (or similar) will satisfy you just as well as Zeiss/Leica/Swarovski,
