Hello all.

I tried to send a message to admin regarding advertising a rental flat and the message was rejected because it contained "banned words", with no explanation. I was just asking for an honest opinion about whether it would be good idea to advertise my place in FdP. I didn't want to just place an ad and hope for the best, as I've already wasted loads of money doing that.

Never mind. Perhaps I'll see some of you on the 19th :-)

I would imagine the best option is to join the Society as an 'Affiliate Member'. This membership entitles you to free web advertising on the main ABS website. Also by being an affiliated member you get recommended through other members. Just a thought and hope this information might be useful.

Hmm, I don't suppose you'd know how I go about this?

Hello,

I have left a message for our webmaster or chairman to do this for you. As regards the lunch, I think we will play it by ear as we have always managed to get in somewhere for lunch. We always go for the cheap option as not everyone can afford high prices.

See you on Saturday.

Heh, maybe. I wasn't thinking of going down to the lake, as I'd feel a bit of a fraud. I am confident that I know the difference between a sparrow and a flamingo, but that's about as far as it goes. Anyone looking at my flickr pages will see that I've phtographed a lot of birds, but know nothing about them.

I don't normally go down to the square either in the middle of the day, but perhaps I'll take a wander down this weekend and look out for twitchers. Is there a stereotype I should be looking out for?

I suppose in the same way drivers of cars are a stereotype i.e. steering a vehicle whilst in motion, birdwatchers normally watch birds with binoculars so if you see anyone with binoculars its a fair bet they watch birds.
