A lovely butterfly on Centaurea calcitrapa, a favourite for butterflies.

Hello Mike,

I hope you are okay.

It looks like it is the Common swallowtail, Papilio machaon on Foeniculum vulgare (Fennel).

Have you seen the Spanish scarce swallowtail yet? It is not scarce as it's name suggests but both of them can be confused.

It's I.feisthamelii (Southern Scarce Swallowtail) now separated from I. podalirius, the Scarce Swallowtail

Probably a female Iberian Marbled White (M.lachesis) not M.ines (Spanish Marbled White)
