A chance for members to join a visit to get views and updates on the main ABS conservation project involving Montagu's Harrier
Saturday 21st July 2018
Meeting Point
Restaurante Apolo X1, Tahivilla, Tarifa
10 am
Leader for the day
Peter Jones

Directions to the meeting point
Just type 'Restaurante Apolo X1, Tahivilla, Tarifa' into Google Search for directions.

Information about the meeting
We will proceed to the main site for the recovery centre and also the protected free range nesting areas for the Montagu's Harrier conservation project. By this time birds will be flying and we will be accompanied by one of the principle volunteers in the project to update us on the success of their work in 2018.
After our visit to the Montagu's Harrier site, we will then be able to visit La Janda for early migrants and summer residents. After a lunch at a local venta, we will visit Barbate Marshes for waders and summer residents.

Possible Birds
Montagu's Harrier, Marsh Harrier, Spanish Imperial Eagle, Black-winged Kite, Collared Pratincole, Heron sps, Northern Bald Ibis, Lark sps and a great many others.

It is likely to be hot and sunny, so light clothing and of course a hat!

The group will take lunch at a local Venta, but those wishing to bring a packed lunch are free to do so, arranging of course to meet together after we have had our food.

Accommodation in the area
Please check our ABS affiliated member's accommodation on our website here: http://www.andaluciabirdsociety.org/index.php/affiliated-services/accommodation-by-province/cadiz
