Found this on another site and wondered if others agreed that it is somewhat dubious to be labelling the bird as Spanish Sparrow? Bird was observed and photographed during the autumn (moult).

The crown looks to be gaining the familiar dark-brown, but bill colour/size, lack of any heavy markings to flank etc., makes this more like a possible hybrid House/Spanish Sparrow. What do you think?

Collalba.

I'd like to see more shots of the bird to be confident of it's exact parentage, as I don't think you could 100% rule out some sort of hybrid on this shot alone,

Looks too clean on the breast and flanks for a Spanish Spuggie! John's right and  some more photos of the bird would make ID easier. Here's a wee photo of a Spanish Sparrow down in the La Janda area.

Agree with John, nice pics Stephen. I would agree with Collalba and go for possible Span/Hou/Hou/Span Hybrid. Certainly do not think it can be true type SS.
