We are trying to locate a source for decent 10x10km square grid maps for Andalucia and also individual provinces i.e. Cadiz, Granada etc. Does anyone have any idea where we might get these?

We are keen to plot species by species throughout the region and also to help in national surveys, so these maps would be a real resource for ABS.

Have you tried Liberia Agricola de Jerez (www.agricolajerez.com) which is near the bullring in Jerez?  They usually have a good stock of large scale local (military)  maps.  Alternatively Stanfords in the UK (Convent Garden, London) can get most maps,

Just to clarify here...?

You are looking for OS type 10 by 10 grid reference maps of Andalucia? You are having a laugh aren't you....

Specifics at
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grid_reference

The best I use for the Sierra de Grazalema in Western Andalucia is the 1:50.000 mapa guia published by the instituto geographico nacional... I can dig out the phone number if you like but the maps are available in decent bookshops and travel info places.... I guess the series covers the whole of Andalucia....

I used to rely a lot on the old military maps that are still for sale in many places.... These things are so outdated now as to be worthless... In fact I don't think they are even being updated and printed anymore..
