Hello,

I would like some advice please regarding a bird in the Alhaurin area. I have been seeing this bird on a very regular basis over the past 2 months and I believe it to be a Harris Hawk. It is obviously an escapee. While I enjoy seeing the bird free and flying about, I am concerned that it is always alone. I have read that they have been known to mate with buzzards. Is it best to do nothing, or should I be doing something to help this bird?

I am uncertain as to how you might help this bird, do you know any local falconer who may be able to lure the bird? This species has a history of being able to cope very well in the wild, which is not always a good thing as an alien species to Spain.

Thank you for the comments. If anyone knows a falconer in the area I would be grateful for contact details.
