Apart from this website are there any other websites posting regular news on migration sightings, particularly for the Cadiz/Malaga regions?

I am a regular, long term visitor in late Winter/Spring  and I find it frustrating that there isn't a suitable website to post sightings and receive local info.

Hi Bryan
There's this for the Straits of Gibraltar/La Janda......http://www.birdforum.net/forumdisplay.php?f=538
Nothing real-time, as far as I know. Something that we could set up within ABS?????? Ideas anyone? Something like a What's App group for interesting sightings?

Hello,

How about http://spain.observado.org/ ?
When I'm at home, I use the Belgian and Dutch version on a daily basis and I find it very easy to post and check sightings. You can filter on species, rarity, date, geographical site, ... Meanwhile, it includes several thousands of observers and millions of observations.
Everytime I'm in Spain I post my own sightings on this site. But I'm not sure how popular it is with local birders.

Kind regards,
Alain

Thanks Alain, that's a useful site for unusual birds, bit short on detail but better than nothing. It's similar to the Dutch Birding site.

Hello Bryan,

I personally think it contains a lot of information, and also about common species. I find it more useful than the Dutch Birding site.
I attached some tips on how to search for more common species, on how to see the details on each sighting and on how to get driving instructions from your home to the site.

Kind regards,
Alain
