Title: Bird territories and nesting boxes
Post by: Petrea on October 05, 2013, 07:43:41 pm
I'm looking for the best places to put some new nesting boxes for tits, so I wonder how close together such boxes can be - and still being used by the birds. So what size of territory do the tits need?

In particular: there is a small box in a protected position on the house. I did not consider it a really good box, but apparently the blue tits disagree! There is a group of tall cypress trees 7 m from that box. Is that too close for another box?

Saludos

Hi Petrea,

Peter says he doesn't know about the bird boxes here.We used to have lots in Devon. He says they seem to cluster them here...what about asking Luis Alberto or Manu Mojarro? They may have the answers.
