Title: llanos De Libar
Post by: Brenda on June 27, 2014, 11:02:08 am

We have just been informed that Llanos De Libar, Montejaque, near Ronda has been closed to the public from the 1st June, until 15th October, by the Junta Forestales.
No cars are allowed due to fire risk ??? Only 10% of the track is forest,.

You will need permission from the Junta De Andalucia to walk there.

It means that less people will be visiting Montejaque, less money spent in local ventas and less tourism. What is happening when the Diputacion De Malaga want to promote natural tourism?

Hi Brenda, we were planning to visit to view the vultures and wondered if/ how far you can drive up the track from Montejaque village or is all of the road closed. Do you know?

I can't understand the thought process of the Forestales either, it doesn't seem to make much sense.

Hello Mel,

Peter says you can try driving up the track and take the risk that you don't meet anyone. If you are stopped you can plead ignorance! The track is not often policed as they do not have the manpower.

Saludos from a wet Italia.
